Making kefir needs only a few simple tools: a strainer to lift the grains out, a spatula or spoon that is not reactive metal, a cloth cover and a clean glass jar. This kefir making kit, delivered across Pakistan, puts them together so your first batch goes smoothly. Choose single items, the full kit, or the full kit with a glass jar. Kefir grains are not included unless the option says so.

Which option should you choose?

Already have a clean glass jar? Choose the Full Kit: strainer, spatula and muslin cloth.
Starting from nothing? Choose the Full Kit + Glass Jar, which includes a kefir jar, then add live grains.
Only missing one tool? Pick the strainer on its own, or a pair such as strainer + spatula or strainer + muslin cloth.

Kefir strainer, spatula and cloth: what each tool does

If you are looking for a kefir strainer in Pakistan, this fine plastic one is made for kefir grains. The other tools do these jobs:

The kefir strainer lifts the grains out of the finished kefir. A fine mesh keeps small grains from slipping through.
The kefir spatula stirs the milk and moves the grains into a fresh jar without touching them with your hands.
The muslin cloth for kefir covers the jar so the kefir can breathe while dust and insects stay out. Hold it on with a rubber band.

Choose your grains

You also need kefir grains. Take live milk kefir grains for creamy, tangy kefir, dehydrated milk kefir grains if you would rather start later, or water kefir grains for a dairy-free, fizzy drink. You can also browse all starter kits.
